Throughout my work at BUSPH and elsewhere, I have always tried to go above and beyond what is expected. I have gained skills in professional  writing, program planning, evaluation, listening, organization, and leadership.

*Professional Writing Skills:

-Experience writing evidence based literature reviews and policy memos

-Contributing writer/editor on paper for Pan African Acupuncture Project (PAAP), being published through the Journal of Global Advances in Health and Medicine

*Program Planning and Evaluation Skills:

-Confident analyzing data collected from research and evaluations

-Able to create clear logic models, tables, matrices outlining performance and change objectives

-Knowledge and application of social science theories and models

-Utilization of life-course perspective when creating or thinking of interventions

*Empathy and Active Listening Skills:

-This skill has always come naturally to me and has helped strengthen my understanding of the struggles and reasons behind difficult health problems

-Increased this skill while working in the social work field, taking cultural competency trainings, and doing social justice work

*Organizational Skills:

-In managing school full-time, working part-time, and completing a practicum, I have gained exceptional organizational abilities and to make sure to take care of my responsibilities in each role

*Leadership Roles:

-Victim Services lead advocate in Pima County

-Taught a weekly health and wellness class to women in treatment for substance abuse

-Organized and facilitated health programs at the University of Arizona- Self-Image Awareness Day, Bystander Intervention Trainings, Sexual Health and Responsibility Week, and Sexual Assault Awareness Walk

-Planned and Taught multiple week long HIV prevention education sessions to adolescents and adults in Arusha,Tanzania

-Managed 20-30 undergraduate students as a Resident Assistant for 2 years
